com um inimigo é um contra um, como em um jogo de luta. Cortes cinematográficos mostram a situação de Mariko
e as ações de Akuma antes que o jogador chegue até eles.

The player controls an unnamed protagonist who tries to rescue his
beloved, Princess Mariko, from the fortress of Akuma Castle. The character walks and runs from left
to right through a linear, side-scrolling level, dealing with attackers and obstacles as he makes
his way deeper into the fortress. Each encounter with an enemy is one-on-one, like in a fighting
game. Cutscenes show Mariko's situation and Akuma's actions before the player reaches them.
